Providing flexible support options for people with a disability and their families and carers

Volunteer Profile

James Pfeffer, Mercy Disability Services' Administrative VolunteerWe are very fortunate to have so many wonderful volunteers that give freely of their time and talent to support our services.

We would like to introduce James Pfeffer:
Q: How long have you been with Mercy Community Services (MCS)?
A: Just over a year.
Q: What do you do in your volunteer role?
A: I volunteer as an Administrative Assistant for the Disability Services’ Supported Living and Community Programs, twice a week. I create spreadsheets to assist staff in record management, photocopying and filing.
Q: What do you enjoy about engaging with MCS?
A: I was made redundant and have been job hunting. As you can imagine, this can be draining but coming into MCS weekly has helped me regain my confidence in my skills. It’s also a pleasure to get out and interact with other people.

Alison Airs, MCS Community Supervisor said James makes a positive contribution to the Disability Services team.

“James is punctual, reliable and focused on the task at hand. He works well both in a team and autonomously, follows instructions and will ask questions if he’s unsure.”
Our team is happy to refer James to any prospective employer. If you know of anyone who is looking for a reliable employee, please call us at (07) 3866 4201.
