Providing flexible support options for people with a disability and their families and carers

Supported Living Services

Mercy Community Services (MCS) support indivduals to live an ordinary life in a safe and homely environment. We deliver 24/7 support staff and assistance in a supported living arrangement located north of Brisbane in the suburb of Wooloowin.

We recognise the need for long term, supported accommodation for adults with disabilities. The Supported Living Services (SLS) provides supported accommodation to adults with intellectual disabilities who require support and assistance in their day to day lives. We encourage service users to live as independently as possible while still providing necessary support within a community living arrangement.

MCS uses a person-centred support model that considers that each person – regardless of their support needs – has the potential to grow and develop. We encourage a life of choice, independance and a healthy wellbeing. It is understood that personal development occurs across an individuals lifetime and that every person develops at their own pace.

SLS provides 24 hour support for services users, in partnership with the MCS Disability Services Leisure & Learning service. Support is provided through employee sleepovers and round-the-clock care and support.

In delivering individualised service provision, MCS’ service and management standards and practices ensure that each person receives support that is planned, reliable and flexible.

We achieve this through:

  • consistancy in our approach
  • relationships and cultural alignment
  • educating and motivating growth
  • community inclusion
  • maintaining routines and rituals.
